BTP Management Team

Joseph J. Bonocore is Founder & CEO of our firm. He is responsible for the overall strategic direction and daily management of the company.

Prior to founding Bonocore Technology Partners, LLL, Joe was Founder, Chairman, President, & CEO of Eclipse Networks, Inc., a venture capital backed professional network management & consulting company providing services fortune 1000 and telecommunication companies, and governments around the world.

Other positions held by Joe include: President & CEO of NYNEX DPI, a software & services division of NYNEX Corporation (now Verizon); President of the San Francisco Consulting Group, a global strategy consulting firm acquired by KPMG; a Partner & the National Industry Director for the North American Telecommunications Practice for KPMG, now BearingPoint, and Managing Partner for the West Coast & Mid-West Consulting Practices for Coopers & Lybrand Consulting (now IBM Consulting).

Joe is the author of two published books; a frequent industry speaker at various technology conferences; and a writer of a number of articles in major publications on technology and management subjects.

He is a Certified Management Consultant (the highest certification issued by the Institute Of Management Consultants).

Joe is also a member of the University of San Francisco Board of Trustees. He has a B.S. from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA

 


   
 

Louis Hartwell, SVP, Consulting, is responsible for our operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Prior to joining BTP, Louis was CEO of ABN Global, a global network and primary hosting company headquartered in London, with offices in Tel Aviv, Spain, New York, and the UK.

Other roles Louis held include Managing Partner for KPMG's UK-based Global Communications Operators Group, an Associate Partner with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), and Vice President of International Strategic Planning and Business Development within AT&T's Communications Services Group.

Louis has a BS in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky and an MBA from Rutgers University.


Hubert Vaz-Nayak, EVP, Strategy & Consulting: Mr. Vaz- Nayak specializes in helping businesses develop and implement growth strategies. Over the course of his career he has established a successful track record for helping large and small businesses grow by focusing their efforts on what they do best and minimizing the utilization of resources on growth inhibiting initiatives.

Prior to joining BTP, Mr. Vaz-Nayak was a senior management consultant with Accenture, LP where he advised management teams of major US corporations on a broad range of strategic and operational issues; was a co-founder of two consulting firms- Impresa Technologies & Eclipse Networks where he was VP, Strategy & Marketing.

Prior to Eclipse Networks, Nr. Vaz-Nayak was a Senior Manager in BearingPoint's eStrategy practice, a marketing executive for AT&T Wireless Services and held several strategic and product marketing positions at Motorola, Inc.

Mr. Vaz-Nayak holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago.

 


Hank Carabelli, SVP, Consulting. Hank has 30 years of experience in business strategy and change management. He also has a history as an accomplished CEO, COO, President, and General Manager where he led in startups as well as turnaround situations. He has a strong reputation for increasing customer satisfaction; increasing company efficiency; and achieving company goals.

Previous positions Hank held included President & CEO of PacWest Telecomm & Vice President of Quality Integration at Ameritech.

He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Detroit and Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

 


James Newman, SVP, Consulting: Jim is a senior executive with over 10 years of successful P&L responsibility. He experience includes consulting delivery; consulting sales; and software delivery; IT infrastructure; re-engineering; and international. His industry strengths include Communications; Health Care; Manufacturing; and Insurance.

His previous roles included a Client Executive with Keane, Inc.; Managing Director with BearingPoint, formerly a Partner with KPMG Consulting, LLC; Senior VP & CIO of two Competitive Communication Service Providers and one Wireless company (Global TeleSystems Group; ICG and Nextel, formally Dial Call); and the Vice President for Corporate Systems for US Sprint.


Jim has an MBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business
His Bachelor of Arts is in Mathematics from DePaul University


Theresa Matacia, SVP, Corporate Finance & M&A Advisory: Theresa is a Corporate Finance and M&A Advisory Executive with extensive experience in corporate finance, corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, capital raising strategies, and strategic planning and development.   

Currently, Theresa advises CEOs and their executive teams on strategic direction and initiatives that drive top-line growth. In her work with a variety of small to medium sized businesses as well as Fortune 1000 companies, Theresa focuses on M&A consolidation approaches and capital raising strategies that drive entry in new markets, enable business model diversification, and serve as a vital tool for strengthening existing market positions. 

Theresa’s multi-industry expertise in Business and Technology Software and Services and high energy level and drive have culminated in closing 28 transactions valued at approximately $3B during her career.  .   

After receiving an MBA in Finance, Theresa began a career on Wall Street as a sell-side equity analyst. Following her Wall Street career, Theresa led corporate finance, M&A, and strategy development for ADP and Scient Corp.

Theresa was awarded a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) diploma in 1991. She also completed a number of Harvard Business School Executive Education courses   

Board seats include Marketing Chair and Private Equity Capital Connection Chair for The Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). Professional Associations include the CFA Institute and the San Francisco Analyst Society.

 


Phyllis A. Bonocore, Vice President & Controller, Special Projects. Phyllis is responsible for the firms accounting, administration and other special projects. Her experience includes strong project management and she has significant experience in accounting, budgeting and financial planning in previous business assignments.
